Metallic materials for spectacle frames:
There are three kinds of metal materials for spectacle frames: copper alloy, nickel alloy and precious metal.
Requirements have a certain degree of hardness, softness, elasticity, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, light weight, luster and good color and so on. Therefore, almost all the metal materials used to make spectacle frames are alloys or used after metal surface processing.
1. White Copper Mirror Frame (Copper-Zinc Alloy):
2. High Nickel Alloy Mirror Frame:
3. Monel frame:
4. Pure Titanium Mirror Frame
The proportion of titanium is only 4.5, which is very corrosion-resistant and has twice the strength of steel. It is used to manufacture spacecraft case and so on. It is called "space metal". There is no metal allergy. There are some problems in early titanium materials, such as difficult cutting and welding. With the development of technology, these problems have been gradually solved in the Japanese market. Titanium materials have become the mainstream. In the European and American markets, titanium materials mainly come from Japan. 。 Titanium frame is generally expressed as Ti-P or TiTAN, which is basically made of titanium except for supporting wire, hinge and screw.
5. Memory Titanium Alloy Mirror Frame:
A new alloy consisting of nickel and titanium with atomic ratio of 1:1. It is 25% lighter than general alloys and has the same corrosion resistance as titanium material. In addition, it has excellent elasticity. Memory Titanium Alloy: It shows shape memory property below 0 C and high elasticity between 0 and 40 C. The corrosion resistance type of memory Titanium is higher than that of Monel alloy and high nickel alloy, but slightly inferior to pure Titanium and beta-Titanium.
6. B-TiTAN Titanium Alloy:
It refers to a special alloy formed by mixing pure titanium (70%) with rare metals such as cobalt and chromium (30%). Ultra-light and ultra-elastic frame can be made very fine. Because Titanium alloys in rare metals such as cobalt and chromium are stable and do not cause skin allergies, they will be more popular in the coming decades.
7. Gold Frame:
Compared with electroplating, the coating material has a thicker surface metal layer, a bright appearance, good durability and corrosion resistance. According to the regulations of the International Precious Metals Conference, the products whose weight ratio of gold to alloy is more than 1/20 are expressed by GF and those whose weight ratio is less than 1/20 are expressed by GP.
8. 18K gold frames:
Generally, it is 18K gold, indicating that the content of pure gold 24K in the frame is 18/24. If expressed in 750/1000, it means 250/1000 of silver, copper and other substances. 18K gold glasses, weighing 40 grams, contain 18 24 x 40 = 30 grams of gold.
